Before you call
Having these to hand shortens the call considerably:
- Instrument model and serial number (on the rating plate).
- Software version, if the issue is in the software.
- The exact error message or code, photographed if possible.
- What changed — a new consumable, a new sample type, a move, a power event.
- When it last worked correctly, and what you have already tried.
What happens next
Most issues are resolved on the phone or remotely. Where a site visit is needed, we schedule an engineer from the nearest service location and confirm the expected date. If a part is required we will tell you the lead time up front rather than after the visit.
Consumables and spares — standards, electrodes, sample cups and spare parts are ordered through the AMETEK India store.
